Job Summary:
 




The Solution Architect is responsible and accountable for architecture design for new and enhanced infrastructure to meet the technical and business requirements for mission critical applications. Act as technical consultant and architect for existing and new development projects. Advise on sizing, capacity planning, design of the configuration and related procedures for distributed environments with additional focus on security and related network connections. This position will be responsible for designing appropriate infrastructure solutions that leverage firm standard IT practices across a distributed environment. Work on project teams as a technical expert and deliver quality products according to project schedule with a strong emphasis on collaboration, coordination, advocacy, and mentoring.
 








 
Essential Functions of the Job:
 





Provide input to infrastructure architectures.
Work with Application Engineering Group Leads and other solution and infrastructure architects.
Maintain adherence to architectural and security standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines.
Review functional and nonfunctional requirements for new systems and enhancements, to identify gaps and inconsistencies, and translate these into requirements for infrastructure build-out.
Architect Infrastructure solutions with no single points of failure. Including architecting failover solutions across multiple data centers
Lead new technology integration via requirements analysis, design, and implementation. Make recommendations and support implementations of new tools and technologies
Engage with firm's operations teams and third party vendors on an as needed basis.
Work closely with:

o   Enterprise Architecture team to understand strategic goals/objectives and work based on the action plans.
o   Infrastructure Architects and Enterprise Architects to ensure the design is following the standards/guidelines or identify the exceptions to the current standards/guidelines
o   Solutions Delivery to create Rough Order Magnitude estimation.
 




 
Primary Responsibilities:
 

Be a client facing role, and gain client credibility through solicitation of business needs and mapping these in a clear and concise manner to architect the solutions at both business and technical level.
Understand and analyze the client’s infrastructure, current and future business needs and identify the business requirements that affect the technical architecture.
Perform on site consultancy services including solutions that mesh into the overall architectural vision.
Design and develop the architectures capable of reaching maximum levels of availability, efficiency, and scalability required.
Manage the client consulting engagements with project scoping and technical architecture design responsibilities.
Assist the project / sales team with support of specific project opportunities in a technical consultative capacity.
Communicate technical and business information to widely varied audiences
Provide technical expertise, guidance, and strategic recommendations to other it groups.
Maintain one’s own technical skills in line with the development of new products in support of the progress.









 
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
 

Proactively identifies and addresses infrastructure incidents, compliance, cost saving and risks.
Provide inputs / recommendations to the Technical Track Architects and Track Leads to ensure that the solution meet the organizational standards.
Analyze and authorize the recommendations from multiple tracks to ensure that the proposed solution is well integrated and can be deployed.

 
 
 




 
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
 
§ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to work with various teams that deliver quality services
§ Strong technical skills designing, developing, implementing applications through logical life cycles
§ Strong understanding of overall Application and Infrastructure Architecture.
§ Extensive knowledge of organizational structure of the firm to facilitate work with groups outside of the immediate technical team.
§ Strong knowledge and experience in IT methodologies that will be used in the work.
§ Proven experience with infrastructure implementation and management.
§ Possesses a thorough understanding of IT Services: service offerings, technical standards and policies, technical and business strategies as well as organizational structure.
§ Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on service offerings and products provided by IT.
 




 
Supervision Responsibilities:

·  Serves as a role model by promoting and demonstrating commitment to Technical Design team, processes and standards for both organization and industry-wide, recommending process improvements when necessary.
·  Supervise Technical Architects and Solution consultants.

Job Requirements:
 




Education:

A degree in computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent work experience

 




Experience:

Approximately 4 – 6 years experience building, integrating and delivering enterprise-wide solutions.
Experience in Infrastructure Design
Overall understanding of the business objectives of service lines and core business services departments.
Demonstrated experience in working with various organizations to deliver application engineering services
Demonstrated experience in working with application vendors /external resource providers and determine the design to meet the requirements.
3– 5 years of infrastructure design experience, preferred

 




Certification Requirements:

Candidate should be TOGAF certified.
Candidate with ITIL v3 certification preferred.
Candidate should be an accredited HP Enterprise Solutions Consultant.
