The Systems Engineer develops, implements, and supports process control systems.Works independently on and studies implementation for automation projects. Develops process control requirements. Develops and implements process control solutions.Proactively identifies new automation concepts and technologies in order to achieve general objectives. Proposes recommendations for continuous improvement by utilizing knowledge regarding process equipment and chemical processes. Help develop plant and site automation plans. Ability to integrate safety, CGMP, environmental, quality and other regulatory requirements into all projects. May lead integration of new automation technology in capital projects. Ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to independently identify activities needed to complete a project successfully. Ability to take independent decisions in absence of direct/functional supervision. Identify and resolve problems in an innovative and creative manner as they relate to plant and site automation. Ability to initiate, design, qualify, and implement automation projects. Responsible for identifying computerized systems guidelines, standards and procedures for development or revision. Participate in the prioritization and selection of projects. Be an expert on computerized systems and related technologies.

The Systems Engineer has a good overview and understanding of the relation between different process systems within a manufacturing plant. Be a champion of good documentation practices in all aspects of work. Optimal usage of internal and external resources and development of working relationships with key people. Be an effective team player for automation related topics within a project. Maintains frequent information exchange with direct / functional supervisor. Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines including FDA, EPA, OSHA and DEA. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures. Assumes responsibility for the environmental effects of work performed and for the identification and recording of environmental problems as they arise. Follow all applicable aspects of the site Environmental Management System as it pertains to normal job duties. Understands and responsibly performs duties with attention to quality, safety and environmental matters. Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
